Kyukei’s Gastropub
Website Brand
XD/ Illustrator/ Photoshop
The project is to have two random words of culture or theme and make a restaurant website based off them. For me I got Japanese and Gastropub. Within moments of research, I produced the name and the story. It is of a Japanese graduate bringing his culture to Florida after a trip to his original home. The target audience is of the age 20 to 35 men who make a minimum wage of $62,000 a year, taking a break after a hard day’s work. The logo consists of a rising sun rising over the clouds, with the background being the key element to the brand. The colors are to represent softness and taking a break, as to the meaning of the name. With the use of 30 second video and high-quality graphics, this is one of my favorites.

Welcome to Kyukei's
Before I started, I did research on what is a gastropub and what is in a Japanese cuisine. With those at hand, I found examples of other restaurants and their websites (The Dead Rabbit and Ramen Tatsu-ya).
To better understand how to develop the website, I began with a couple of exercises on working with XD, WIX, and Web Flow, to get the feel on layering the website. Then I started producing the logo, using the sun and the clouds as inspiration. This also includes making a handwritten font for the name to be paint strokes. Later, I used the structure of a bento box to layer the fonts and the logo.
